Minutes of Meeting
January 13, 2015

Meeting was called to order at 7:35 pm with ten (5) members present.

Secretary’s report was read.  Henry Murry made motion to accept.  Motion seconded by Jeff Parker.  Motion carried.

Treasurer’s report was read.  Jeff Parker made motion to accept.  Motion seconded by Terri Conti.  Motion carried.

County News:

  • Sandy Woodbeck reported that the Montpelier, Calais, Worcester dispute has been somewhat settled.
  • Calais Tucker can not get under some of the sap lines.
  • Montpelier will go through to the other side of the sap lines.
  • A report from Washington County Sheriff’s office in that they acquired two sleds and patrolled the trails. Some statistics they provided…
    • they logged 531 miles
    • issued approx 126 tickets (examples – 12 no inspections, 2 after-market exhausts, 1 no registration, 5 no insurance, 5 youngsters no certifications, 18 warnings, 11 no taillights, 1 DUI)
  • The trail groomers had mentioned some of the things they have observed on the trails – especially unregistered sleds.  There is a program being considered to put Deputy Sheriff’s in the groomers.  If it works and news spreads that there is a cop in the groomer, people will be more in compliance with the rules and laws

  • Welding repairs to our drag
  • VAST grooming mileage contract $2.00 increase per mile ($10 to $12 per mile).
  • Jeff Parker will check with Packards on fuel for the groomer
  • Derek Pryce was successful in getting a new trail to Dudley’s store
