Minutes of Meeting
January 16, 2007


Meeting was called to order at 7:35 pm with twelve (12) members present.

Secretary?s report was read. Pat McKinstry made motion to accept. Motion seconded by Denny Gove. Motion carried.

Treasurer?s report was read and accepted.

VAST Annual Meeting on September 29, 40th Anniversary at Champlain Fair Grounds.

Trail closure: Stowe through deer yard; 232 in Peacham; Worcester closure, no call from landowner, will travel trail anyways; Denny Gove?s trail closed, Gould Hill.

Trails Report:
-Started Piston Bulley.
-Placed seal on passenger door of Piston Bulley.
-Leveled suspension bridge.
-No gates opened yet.
-Gas tank on skid plate.
-Leave gates on Railroad bed closed, open all others.

Webmaster:
-Put on mini applications for cross-country skiers.
-Complaints no 3-day passes.

Roger Hall and Sandy Woodbeck attended VAST Grooming meeting with County Trails Coordinator.
-No grooming contract
-East Montpelier agreed to travel Gould Hill one more year to groom Montpelier. Montpelier will get permission to travel roads from Montpelier, which they did. They need to get permission from East Montpelier. Next year Montpelier will have to find new trail down Gould Hill.
-Discussion of problem with Montpelier held. Solution: Travel Gould Hill this year. Montpelier obtains permission from East Montpelier to travel Gould Hill. If no permission, revise East Montpelier Gully Jumpers contract. Issue 2006-2007 grooming contract in order to get start up fee.
-Peter Hill made motion to do whatever it takes to solve grooming contract problem. Dave Guilmette seconded motion. Motion carried.

5-year average; be careful of number of weeks groomed. Bad year brings us from 10 weeks to 8 weeks guaranteed payment.

Early Bird Drawings held, about 5,000 entries. Elderly guy in Hartland, Windsor won. Go on web site to see list of winners.

Henry Murray made motion to adjourn. Motion seconded by Roger Hall. Meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm.
