Minutes of Meeting
January 10, 2006


Meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm with 10 members present.

Secretary?s report was read. Pat McKinstry made motion to accept. Motion seconded by Roger Hall. Motion carried.

Treasurer?s reportwas read and accepted.

County meeting:
-At VAST meeting, county committed to Sheriff Department.
-Stowe trail closed through deeryard.
-Waitsfield still closed along river.
-Open new trail From Duxbury store over mountain.
-4-H Clubs to track young riders safety; Orange-Washington will do one and one in Chittenden County.
-See $10 increase in TMA?s. May be for easements on private land.
-Sheriffs at meeting. Want people in clubs to patrol with them.
-First time in years that Calais groomed first weekend.
-Watching grooming money. Question: pay subsidy for fuel cost?
-At February County meeting, 4 clubs (Montpelier, East Montpelier, Calais, and Worcester) talk about Montpelier going into grooming. Representative from each 4 clubs be there.
-County treasurer is now Howard Daynal.

Trails report:
-Trails open.
-Groomed all East Montpelier trails once.
-Montpelier not groomed yet. Not enough snow.
-Changed belt on driver?s side of Piston Bulley.
-Fuel delivered.
-Mekkelsen logging. Won?t cross trails. Beware of logging. Check culvert.

Webmaster: very quiet. Delete old material.

Parking lot approved for Kevin Morse to plow.
On Dodge Road, one pole replaced by electric company. Now has a guide wire. Be aware.

Guide wire by Lavines. No yellow coating. Grommer be careful.

Think in 3 years to buy groomer, $17,000.

Discussed raffle of 3-4 TMAs, Grand prize TMA and $250 toward insurance. Tickets ? $5-10. Start in May and draw in October.

Talk to cross country skiers. Have prize package for skiers. Sell tickets to skiers.

Discuss next meeting of any other suggestions.

SnoBees trail to Canadian Club now open.
