Meeting Minutes
September 13, 2005

Meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm with nine (9) members present.

Secretary?s report was read. Pat McKinstry made motion to accept. Motion seconded by John Pattinato. Motion carried.

Treasurer?s report was read and accepted.

Business:
-VAST Annual meeting-Saturday, September 17, 2005 at Lyndon State college. Meeting at 1 pm, 3 seminars starting at 9 am repeating so you can catch 2 of them.
-Discussed new bridges, steel versus wood. ? cost, no definite decision.
-Private groomer contractors files for unemployment. VAST challenged it, but lost case.

County report:
-Calais Piston Bulley at Kassiborer for radiator and annual service. Found lease hadn?t been signed. They want VAST to pay to fix it, then they would buy it.
-Worcester-project over Eagle Ledge on hold. Problem on 500 feet of State land. No approval as of now. State says ?No Snowmobiling?.
-Cabot Club-new management. Younger crew. New metal Bailey bridge in town behind store. Hoping for a positive change.
-No plant to increase groomer fee due to fuel increase.

Trails report:
-Work bee ? Railroad bed on Michael Johns.
-Colburn Bridge ? waiting for loggers to get done.

Webmaster ? rebuilt site, updated look. Major complaint from out-of-staters that Vermont has no 3-day passes; losing business.

John Pattinato needs help with safety courses at U-32. Seminar on September 27 at Montpelier High School and Essex, September 28 to become certified. U-32 has a big turn out. One course at Montpelier and ?2 at U-32 if over 25 kids.

No Piston Bulley service. Two options ? Kassiborer-$1,800 or us. Doug Wilson will start carrying filters. Belt needs to be replaced on one side. Going from 2 belt to 4 belt system. Will 4 belt fit our Kleats? 4 belts - $3,000 at Kassiborer. Discussion: should we buy all 4 belts and use old ones for spares? Peter Hill made motion to buy all 4 belts for track. Motion seconded by Pat McKinstry. Motion carried.

Henry Murray made motion to adjourn. Motion seconded by Peter Hill. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm.
