Minutes of Meeting
March 11, 2008


Meeting was called to order at 7:35 pm with six (6) members present.

Secretary’s report was read. Roger Hall made motion to accept. Motion seconded by Denny Gove. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s report was read and accepted.

VAST Equipment grant discussion. Proposal – use, mileage and number of weeks groomed turn around so small club would get bigger grant. Big clubs – 2 or 3 groomers based on number of miles each groomer grooms, drop amount of money club can get.

County meeting:
-Most club grooming over caps.
-Director go back to Board to find fuel buyers group, better cost for fuel, pre-buy, VAST level.
-East Montpelier trails reported in good conditions from other county clubs.
-Courtesy Toyota sold. New owner went to VAST wanting to give VAST official VAST truck. Trundra, extended cab, full package, no lease, 3 year. Exchange Toyota gets VAST membership list. Some problem if goes through anyone with TMA will get VIP pricing to purchase new vehicle. VIP get pricing on any Toyota (this dealership dealing with VAST only.)
-Barre fighting trail (Bennette’s to Groton), one land owner on market. If sells and don’t want snowmobiling trail would be the old Gore with no motorize vehicles. Changed Forest and Parks minds on that. Just in case trail. Old class 4 road for backup trail.

Trail report:
-Grooming going good. Used 785 gallons of fuel. Over cap. Still grooming once a week if possible (25% of miles.)
-Changed runners on back of pan.
-Think about: Last fall talked about tin shelter to put Piston Bulley under. 20 x 12 would be good. Check with Bill. Question permit. Check cost.

Next month: Elections, approve money issues like land owner appreciation, money for building use, trail work, Piston Bulley maintenance.
